BRULLEMAIL
MASTIFFS since 1986
Hello
and welcome to Brullemail, FAMILY
ALBUM
Brullemail
is not only a paradise on earth for horses, but also for dogs and
in particularly for MASTIFFS.
Of course, every dog owner thinks ( and he is probably right) that
his chosen breed is the best of all
Since my earliest childhood ,I have always been around the dogs
of my family ;hunting dogs on the side of my grandparents (Brittany
Spaniels, Fauve de Bretagne, Labrador, English Setters) and at the
age of 13, I was finally allowed to have my very own dog who became
the compangnon of my informative years (Boxer and then Irish Wolfhound).
I have always been interested in a great number of breeds (very)
big and small (Mastiff, Mâtin Napolitain, Fila, Irish Wolfhound,
Greyhound,or the Scottish, the Norfolk, and Border Terrriers, Bouledogue
Français and the English Bulldog). Even if all of these breeds
interest me and I never miss the oportunity to watch the judging
when visiting internatoinal exhibitions ; it wouldn't be possible
to own specimens of all of them. At the same time , I hope that
one day ,by becoming a judge ,I will have the occasion to participate
in the selection of some of these breeds .
But above all , I think that I am very lucky to live out all of
my passions everyday , that of nature , horses and dogs. The Brullemail
Studfarm , set in 120 hectares, is a real beauty spot , where we
live in wonderful harmony with a lot of horses and a handful of
dogs .
Like
all English Mastiff fanciers around the world my Mastiffmania started
with " love at first sight ", the day I came across my
first Mastiff., this molosse with a tender heart !
It was in the Spring of 1986 and I was taking one of my broodmares
to be bred at a neighbouring studfarm, where I was greeted by an
impressive deep bark, announcing the presence of a Molosse in the
courtyard.
Sure enough , I soon saw a huge head come and glue his big wet nose
up against the car window !
This Mastiff was imported from the USA and was called Agbar (family
line of Indian Raid). Thus started my passion for this exceptional
breed.
A few months later , my first Mastiff came to live at Brullmail
: BAMBOU
DE BELGODERE.
Since then, my passion for this breed hasn't stopped growing.
I had my first litter of Mastiff pups in 1990 , the year I registered
the name of my Kennel at the " Société Centrale
Canine ": BRULLEMAIL.
I am a member of the " Club Français du Mastiff (et
Bullmastiff) " and amongst those who have signed the "
Charte de l'Elevage "(Breeding regulations) recomended by the
club; I am also a member of the Old English Mastiff Club and of
the Mastiff Association of Great Britain.
As for my horses , the genetic selection is very important to me
, and as I couldn't imagine living my passion any other way ,I travel
around the world to broaden my horizons and experiences .
Unfortunately ,this poses me with a major problem, as my passion
for genetic selection would necessitate a lot more dogs and many
regular litters , and the dogs at Brullemail live in the house ,
going freely from the kitchen to the salons, and thus limited in
their numbers , spending their lives as our true everyday compangnons.
During the past several years my professional work has taken up
lot of my time ,not allowing me the occasion to conentrate on the
selection of Mastiffs. Nevertheless ,this hasn't stopped me from
living with my 3 mastiffs and from enjoyoing every moment spent
with them !
Since 1998 I have managed to allow myself more free time to satisfy
my " cynophile " hobby and to travel around the world
to look at hundreds of Matiffs, (and the other breeds that interest
me ) in the top exhibitions and National Shows , and at the same
time meeting famous and inovating breeders,or participating in judging
seminars in Great Britain ; cultivating my Mastiffmania.
And
so it was in 1998, (my first Mastiffs having either passed away
or simply getting old), that I started my quest for some new puppies
across Europe .Difficult to find subjects answering to my requirements,
being that of a classical model of the breed , with excellent movement
, as I am a strong believer in Mastiffs who move !
Around the beginning of 1999, I started looking at an excellent
male living in Denmark (Hugedogge Kennel) imported at 3 months old
, who had all the phenotypique qualities that I was looking for
in a Mastiff, combining the powerful movement and wonderful friendly
character, so typical of the breed.
Several months later, it was in Wales (Bredwardine Kennel) that
I finally found the brindle girl that I was hoping to find . She
had all the qualities for a future bitch , very deep and stocky
with an extraordinarily beautiful head.
They both have great pedigrees that are complementary to those of
other French Mastiffs .
We are also waiting for another female from the USA and our own
litter due in March 2001 .
If you want to find out more about our dogs ,I invite you to visit
our website BRULLEMAIL
