Whilst we were on holiday visiting friends in the north of the USA on the St Lawrence river's Thousand Islands, Christopher and I took some time off to go down "south" and visit some kennels around West Virginia and the east coast . We went to GREINER HALL, IRON HILLS, CELESTIAL & MESSIAH.

It was at the home of Karin Leahy that we met a beautiful fawn female Ch SILVER SIMPLY ELSA and her 1 year old daughter OLIVIA who we both adored at once.
We asked Karin to keep us a pup from her next litter with ELSA if possible.
Unfortunately ELSA didn' have any more pups. Her superbe daughter Am Ch MESSIAH'S ELS TIP THE DOORMAN alias OLIVIA in the meantime had won BOS at Westminster !
The following year, I contacted Karin again but OLIVIA had been bred to a dog that I did not prefer.
A little later I went on another trip to the US to visit the kennels of LAZY D in the mid west and reserved and payed for a pretty female who for reasons never explained to me was never delivered. When I was finally re-emebersed, I ran into Karin once again at the National Specialty in May 2003.
OLIVIA was expecting pups this time from a stud dog who was already a famous stallion in the USA, Am Ch MADIGAN DOC HOLIDAY, who I saw and greatly admired at the NS 2003 in Carlisle where his products all did exceptionally well.
There were 5 females in this litter , fawns and apricots. I chose SAMANTHA.
SAMANTHA arrived at Brullemail 3 months later.
SAMANTHA was exactly what I had hoped for. A fawn female, with an expressive well pigmented head, lots of bone( she had huge paws at 3months already) an excellent top line and remarkable angulations in her hind legs.SAMANTHA grew up into a magnificent female staying both feminin but with the size and weight of a male dog.
SAMMY is not only an exceptional female morphologically but also a very tender and loving girl. She has a very special personality, very placid and a big sleeper. But at the slightest cry or squeek of any little animal she can suddenly rear up like a true lioness !
She is of course extremely close to us.
In the spring of 2009, SAMANTHA left us. Unfortunately, much too soon at the age of 6. We shared many special moments with our unique girl, a World champion ... champion of our hearts.
ORIGIN

Her pedigree is one that is very interesting.
Her father Am Ch MADIGAN DOC HOLIDAY was a very good dark brindle male, with a large head, a strong neckline, a wide and solid back, good hind legs , strong bone structure. DOC passed on all of these qualities to his products, breeding pups with size, substance and bone.
Some people criticise the fact thay they have slopey stops. He had himself a very well marked stop but this family trait may come from his father NASSAU TUDOR MAX. But when considering the over all qualities that he transmits this is really not important.

DOC has won many important victories like the BOB at Bucks, the BOB at Trenton (under GB judges) in 2001. DOC was also awarded an Award Of Merit at Westminster 2001 and the BOB at Somerset Hills (judge R. Thomas) in 2003.

DOC's offspring have won twice the Breeder's Cup at the National Specialty in 2003 with the brindles of MESSIAH and in 2007 with the fawns from LAZY D.
DOC has had over twenty products champion in the USA so far some of them the best Mastiffs in the US coming mostly from the kennels MESSIAH & LAZY D. His production earned him a MCOA Hall Of Fame in 2007 and the title of MCOA Stud Dog of the Year 2007.
Amongst his most famous dogs we note Am Ch MESSIAH'S GRT MOSAIC Winner Bitch at the MCOA NS 2003 and her sister Am Ch MESSIAHS GRT HEAVENLY HAM alias PIGGY who won the BOB at Somerset County 2004 while her brother Ch MESSIAH'S GRT DOC WHYATT won the BOS.
Am Ch LAZY D FAMILY TRADITION won the BOB at the MCOA NS two years in a row in 2006 & 2007.This super fawn male also won the BOB at Westminster in 2007 & 2008. His sister Am Ch LAZY D DIXIELAND TUPELO HONEY won herself the BOS at the MCOA NS 2007 and the BOS at Westminster 2008 whilst Am Ch LAZY D KING RUFUS OF SEAWRIGHT received an AOM at Westminster 2008.
In Australia DOC produced the first litter of Mastiffs born with frozen semen there.Amongst the pups there is, Austr Ch YANOOR TIP O THE ICEBERG.
In Europe, the most famous of his pups is of course SAMANTHA, but here are some youngsters behind her like the brother and sister MASTIFFHILLS EXTREME TIGER & MASTIFFHILLS ESSENCE OF BEAUTY.(CASPIA)

The father of DOC, Am Ch NASSAU TUDOR MAX won a AOM at Westminster in 1998. He was also the grand son of a great champion Am Ch AVALON TUCSON WARRIOR, lauréat of a AOM at the MCOA NS 1993 and in the Top 10 Mastiff in USA in 1994.
TUCSON was a son of the foundation sire Am Ch IRONHILL WARWAGON BISS at the MCOA NS 1989 &1990, Mastiff N°1 in 1991, Top stud-Dog 1991-1992-1993, MCOA HOF 1991.

The mother of SAMANTHA is Am Ch MESSIAH'S ELS TIP THE DOORMAN alias OLIVIA, a very pretty fawn female who became American champion at10 months. She won many BIS puppy in the 6-9 month Puppy and at the MCOA National Specialty 2000. Adult, her most famous wins were BOS at the famous Westminter Show (Madisson Square Gardens, New York) in 2002 & BOS at the Working Dog Classic.
Her sire Am Ch IRON HILLS DOORMAN TO MT MORIAH was a big and beautiful brindle male and son of the famous BIS-BISS Ch IRON HILLS IN TO THE NIGHT.
He was the first brindle Mastiff in the USA to win a Best In Show. He also took home twice the BISS at the MCOA NS.

OLIVIA's mother was Am Ch SILVER'S SIMPLY ELSA (Am Ch Belles Captin Hook x Am Ch Cluny's Enchanted Blossom), born in Texas. ELSA won the Open class at the National Specialty and was honoured with a MCOA AF (Hall of Fame) in 2000 for her production of champions.
Am Ch CLUNY'S ENCHANED BLOSSOM, the dam of ELSA, was classed N°3 of female Mastiffs in theUSA in 1996. She won an Award Of Merit at the MCOA NS 1995 & 1996.She also produced 7 champions and took a MCOA Hall of Fame in 1998 thanks to amongst others Am Ch SOUTHPORT EN VOGUE .

The parents of SAMANTHA all have good results form their xrays of hips. They all have OFA GOOD & ELBOW negative for dysplasia.
They have all been checked negative for PPM by CERF.

In SAMANTHA's pedigree we can see 2 inbredings in the first 4 generations :
- her sire DOC is linebred 4 x 4 by Am Ch LIONSIRE GRIZZ, an excellent brindle stallion who has a remarkable production, especially seen in his females. He was OFA EXCELLENT as well.
- OLIVIA, the mother of SAMANTHA, is linebred 4 x 4 by Am Can Ch MATTS JOSHUA OF DOGWOOD KNOLL, another famous american stallion who won the BOB at the MCOA National Specialty 1993.
